– The “Morning” time slot is between 6 - 11 AM.
– The “Mid Day” time slot is between 11 - 4 PM.
– The “Evening” time slot is between 4 - 7 PM.

We do not guarantee specific time slots. A 1-2 hours window is acceptable, except in the case of pets that require medication at a specific time or has a specific medical condition (in which a one-hour window is acceptable). We are, however, happy to note your preferred visit time and will do our best to accommodate.

We recommend that you book your pet sitting visits as early as possible as we always schedule our appointments on a first come, first serve basis.

Payment: We accept cash, check, and PayPal. Payment must be rendered in full prior to start of services for first time customers. Established customers payment is due in full on the first day that service begins.    *There will be a $25.00 fee for all returned checks.

Keys: We ask that you provide H.D.C.S. with a key upon our initial consultation.  There is a $10 trip charge if we are required to pick up or drop off keys or any other entrance device each way. If you do not want to keep a key on file other options can be discussed at the initial consultation.

Office Hours: High Desert Critter Sitters office hours of operation are from 6 am to 6pm. Visits are done between the hours of 6am to 7pm.

Alarms/Security System: If you have a security system, we require you to program a 4-digit code in for us that we will provide. We prefer not to use your code for security purposes and because it makes all codes easier to us remember. Most security systems allow additional codes to be programmed. If you do not know how to program a code, please contact the service department of your security company. (You would have to do this anyway if you gave us your code as anytime you give someone access to your home, you are required to update your security company.)

Extension of Services: In the event you must be away longer than planned it is mandatory that we hear from you! We will only accept extensions of service by direct confirmation.  The well-being of your pet(s) depends on our communication! The only form of payment accepted for visit extension is through PayPal.

Early Returns/Cancellations: It is not unusual for trip plans to change at the last minute. However, please understand that High Desert Critter Sitters reserves your spot on our calendar and may turn away other clients if we are booked. We ask that customer cancellations be received at least 24 hours in advance of each scheduled visit or a $20 cancellation fee will added to your account.

While You’re Away: At the completion of each visit, the sitter will leave a daily checklist confirming that the visit was completed and provide an update on your pet(s). If you prefer a text message, picture, email or phone call this can be arranged at time of scheduling.

Holiday Fees: Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Holiday Charge is $5.00 per visit on these specified days.

Job Sharing & Visitors: For the safety of your four-legged loved ones and home, no other person should be permitted in your home during the service period. No other person is permitted to care for your pets during the service period. We do not share duties with other persons and will not be held responsible for problems arising with your pets or home when someone we do not insure is involved. Our liability insurance will not cover both parties. Only pet sitters with High Desert Critter Sitters will be covered. Please keep this in mind if you allow other people in your home during our service period this constitutes breach of service agreement. This is done for liability and the security of our pet sitters.
Please inform us at the time of the consultation of anyone who may have access to your home. This includes cleaning services, maintenance personnel, friends, family and neighbors. It is understood that the client will notify anyone with access to the home that the services of High Desert Critter Sitters have been engaged.

Cats: Only healthy cats are eligible for every other day visits. This is for your cat’s safety. If you insist on every other day, High Desert Critter Sitters will not be held responsible for any damage or health issues that may arise.

Dogs: Dogs require at least a once per day visit if access is available to go potty. No exceptions.

Unforeseen purchases: High Desert Critter Sitters will purchase pet food, litter, cleaning supplies or other necessary items that contribute to the health and well-being of your pet while you are absent. We will retain a receipt and the pet owner is responsible for reimbursement of these items. In-addition a $15 trip fee will be charged to the pet owner.

Medications: High Desert Critter Sitters will attempt to administer medications as directed but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result. If a High Desert Critter Sitters pet care provider is bitten or exposed to any disease or ailment received from the client's pet(s) which has not been properly or currently vaccinated, the client will be responsible for all costs and damages that may incur.

Fences: Fenced in yards are wonderful playgrounds for our dogs and allow them additional space to exercise and play. However, no fence system is totally secure.  High Desert Critter Sitters does not accept responsibility or liability for any client's animals that escape or become lost or injured, fatal or otherwise, when instructed to leave the clients animals in a fenced in area. This includes electronic, wood, metal or any other type of fence.

Pet Proofing: It is the pet owner’s sole responsibility to “pet-proof” any areas of the home and/or property to which the pet(s) has access. This includes thoroughly inspecting fences, gates, latches, doors and other devices meant to contain the pet(s) or restrict access to specific areas. The pet sitter does not assume responsibility and has no liability for any injuries the pet(s) may sustain, or property damage the pet(s) may cause while in their own home/property.
